The Padres' options at shortstop are limited this offseason, but they might not have to look further than Asdrubal Cabrera.

With several veteran managers available to the Padres, they had their options open. The decision they made, hiring Andy Green, was the wrong one, though.

Dealing Tyson Ross and Craig Kimbrel to the Cubs for a package of prospects this offseason would help the Padres contend sooner.

Justin Upton is not coming back to the Padres after the season they had in 2015. All San Diego can do is make him a qualifying offer and let him go.

Ron Gardenhire has experience getting the most out of his players in Minnesota. The Padres should now make him the man in San Diego.
