San Diego Padres Lineup & Pitching Matchups for Game 2 vs. Rockies
After a hard-fought win in the series opener, the San Diego Padres look to make it two in a row tonight versus the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field at 5:40 PM PDT.
Manuel Margot is back in the leadoff spot for the San Diego Padres tonight after spending last night in the eight-hole and driving in a run in a big spot in the second inning. Apparently Andy Green saw all he had to see.
All joking aside, there was more than likely a perfectly reasonable explanation for batting Margot eighth, besides his sub-.130 batting average.
Maybe matchups had something to do with it, or possibly because of the massive power potential of Clayton Richard hitting behind him. Gotta give your big bats protection : )

After Margot, it’s the usual suspects for the Friars. Jose Pirela, coming off of a 3-for-5 game last night is back in the two-hole, with Eric Hosmer and Hunter Renfroe filling out the top-four.
Christian Villanueva is hitting fifth, playing third base, with the red-hot Freddy Galvis hitting sixth, playing shortstop.
Carlos Asuaje is back in the seven-hole after his latter-end of back-to-back homers for the Padres last night out of the leadoff spot.
Austin Hedges, who also had three hits in last night’s contest, is back in the eighth spot, with Lucchesi hitting ninth, making his third start of the season.
Tonight’s pitching matchups
Going for the Friars will be their rookie left-hander, Joey Lucchesi (0-0, 2.79). After his five-inning, one hit performance in his last start, also against the Rox, the young man certainly hopes to build off of his prior success.
Pitching for the Rockies is the same guy they faced five days ago when Lucchesi was on the mound, Tyler Anderson (0-0, 7.56).
After seeing their bats come alive in last night’s victory, the Friars hope to keep the high times rolling in Denver tonight.
