One of the most dominant players in San Diego Padres history is set to be forever immortalized in Cooperstown. Here’s all you need to know about how and where to watch Trevor Hoffman’s induction ceremony.

The day has finally arrived! This afternoon, former San Diego Padres closer Trevor Hoffman will be formally inducted into Major League Baseball’s Hall of Fame. Originally drafted as an infielder by the Cincinnati Reds in the 11th round of the 1989 MLB draft, Hoffman, and his lethal changeup, will enter the Hall of Fame as a member of the San Diego Padres and one of the most dominant closers of all time.

Hoffman joins Vladimir Guerrero, Jim Thome, Alan Trammell, Jack Morris, and Chipper Jones as part of the 2018 class. Hoffman will become the third member of the San Diego Padres to be enshrined in Cooperstown, joining Dave Winfield and Tony Gwynn.

Here’s how and where you can watch Sunday’s historic moment:

  • When: July 29th, 2018
  • Time: 10:30 am PT (1:30 pm EST)
  • TV: MLB Network
  • Online: Baseballhall.org
  • Radio: MLB Network Radio

If you are around Petco Park on Sunday, fans can watch the ceremony live from inside Petco Park. For those of you who weren’t able to make it out to Cooperstown, watching from the confines of Petco Park is, without a doubt, the next best viewing option for Friar Faithful.

San Diego Padres Trevor Hoffman: A Legend Of The Game

Hoffman recorded 601 saves across his 18-year MLB career, playing parts of one season with the Florida Marlins, 16 years with the San Diego Padres, and finishing his career with two years in Milwaukee. He converted 88.8% of his save opportunities, using one of the most dominant changeups of all-time to close out games.

As we mentioned earlier this weekend, Sunday is about one thing and one thing only, Trevor Hoffman. He’s not the “East Coast Mariano Rivera” as one publication recently called him. He’s Trevor Hoffman, a symbol of dominance in Major League Baseball.

While Gwynn and Winfield are the only former Padres to be inducted with a San Diego hat on, there are a number of other Hall of Famers who donned a Padres uniform during their career.

Tune in and enjoy this moment. If you plan on enjoying the ceremony at home, let me provide you with the appropriate music.
