San Diego Padres: Ha-Seong Kim provides spark at the top of the lineup against Miami
Ha-Seong Kim has been a spark plug at the top of the lineup for the Padres lately and he had a big series when it was needed.
Monday night, he had two hits, two runs scored, and four RBI, which included a three-run home run off of former teammate Weathers in the second inning. Wednesday, he got things going in the bottom of the first when he doubled to lead off the inning, then advanced to third base on a ground out when he made a good read on the throw from third baseman Jake Burger to first and he broke and beat the return throw. He scored when Juan Soto singled through the drawn-in infield. Manufacturing a run at its finest.
In the two Padres wins, he combined to go 3-for-8 with three runs scored and four driven in. As is always the case, he was good in the field as well to back the Friars' pitching. He quietly could be considered an under-the-radar MVP this season for San Diego.
