Padres are watching Mason Miller become a Korn icon by complete accident

This budding relationship is pretty cool to see.

Is Mason Miller suddenly the coolest guy in Major League Baseball? His 104 MPH fastball already puts him in the conversation. Having that kind of gas says it all. What about his insane scoreless streak? Miller's video game numbers are something we have never seen.

Then Miller unveiled MLB's most intimidating walkout song from a pitcher in a long time. Blind by Korn blares through the Petco Park speaks when the ninth inning rolls around, and out comes Miller to strike out the side. It's a sequence that buys you fans for life. But also, newfound fans of the band itself.

Korn has been around long before Miller ever became a pitcher. But now, the two are connected. For bringing Korn back to baseball, the band and its manager reached out to Miller to give him all sorts of merch. Not many hard rock bands are doing that these days. That's pretty awesome, and it makes us wonder if Miller really is the coolest player in the big leagues. He has our vote.

Mason Miller's fast rise to super stardom pairs well with Korn walkout song

The funny part about all of this is that Miller did not even pick the song. Clubhouse attendants suggested Korn's track as Miller's walkout, and the rest was history. Miller has ran with it, welcomed it, and is now accepted by the band. Can we envision Miller wearing a Korn hoodie over his Padres jersey during warmups? Now we're getting Major League vibes. He should try it if the organization gives him the green light to wear the merch on the field.

Korn has to be loving this, too. Their music is being reached to a new audience, particularly the younger baseball fans in the San Diego area. Pitchers at the high school level are starting to use it as their walkout songs, too. Not that Korn was never not relevant, but they are growing in popularity again with the baseball community. It's a win-win for everyone.
