As the Major League Baseball seasons gets closer to beginning, it is time for the fun stuff that gets the fans really excited. While last year generated more off-season buzz in meeting the new roster that A.J. Preller assembled, this time of year is always exciting for any baseball fans. The caravan will be February 11th-13th with a few different stops around San Diego and even down to Tijuana. A full projected schedule can be found on the Padres website at padres.com/caravan. On this event it is expected that new manager Andy Green will be visiting with fans, as well as James Shields, Tyson Ross, Andrew Cashner, and Cory Spangenberg. Spangenberg is poised for a big year as he is fully expected to be the everyday second baseman after a quality 2015 audition.
Through the three days the Padres will do some fire station, schools, and military visits around town and a hospital in Tijuana on the 13th.

Padres FanFest will take place over two days this year on April 1st and 2nd. This is an annual event with a chance to get on the field, get some autographs, and of course the annual Padres garage sale. More details will be announced soon, as typically FanFest is only a one day event. Petco Park has had a busy off-season, hosting Monster Jam and other events, and this year on the field will be as busy as ever hosting its first ever All-Star Game in July.
These events are great to get the fans excited and a chance for the players a last bit of fan interaction before they head to Arizona and things start getting a little more serious. The time has nearly come to start playing baseball again.
