The San Diego Padres let another early lead slip away, allowing the Pittsburgh Pirates to complete a three game sweep and hand the Padres their fifth straight loss.
Andrew Cashner was throwing another gem but it all fell apart when the lead go away in the eighth inning. Cash threw 7.2 innings allowing three hits and four earned runs. Cashner’s now has a 3-10 record for the 2015 season.
The only offense came from a Matt Kemp (1-4) home run in the first inning, his seventh of the season. Melvin Upton (1-3) hit a double in the second to drive in Will Venable (0-1).
