Padres Recap: June 6th, 2015
The San Diego Padres got their road trip off on the right foot in Cincinnati tonight with a 6-2 victory of the Reds. Tonight’s win is the third in a row for the Padres, moving them back to .500(28-28) on the year.
The Padres offense jumped out to a large lead before a rain delay. Will Venable hit the first of three Padres homeruns in the second. Will Middlebrooks and Derek Norris also contributed homers of their own in the fourth and seventh.

Tyson Ross was sharp with seven strikeouts in his five innings pitched, but he did not take the mound again after the rain delay. Ross gave up just five hits and two runs. The rest of the bullpen threw four shutout innings. The Padres pitching was a bit shaky earlier this season, but are really starting to look as dominant as we originally expected.
While the Padres offense stayed hot, it was their defense that really shined tonight; which included this tumbling Matt Kemp catch.
Andrew Cashner gets the start tomorrow for the Padres.
