Padres News: Offense Fails Cashner Again

Andrew Cashner had another solid outing for the San Diego Padres, giving up just one run on five hits, but the Padres offense failed to produce enough runs to get him a win again. This leaves Cashner at 1-7 on the year.

The Padres were only able to muster one run, which came from a Will Venable single in the seventh that knocked in Derek Norris; which tied the game at one a piece but homers continued to be a problem for our bullpen who gave one up to Joc Pederson in the eighth to seal our defeat.

The Padres now sit at 20-23 on the season and while the season is still not lost, it’s beginning to feel that way. Something has to change and this time I don’t think the answer if firing the Hitting Coach.

I think when Wil Myers and Yonder Alonso are back the Padres offense will pick up again, but I don’t think the Friars can wait that long…

I hate to say it – I really hoped it wouldn’t come to this back when the season started – but it’s time to fire Buddy Black.
