I know it’s only April and there is a lot more baseball to play. I know that this happens to all teams every year and they go on loosing spells. I know we’re still just two games out of first place. I know…oh, who am I kidding, I’m starting to freak out.

After a strong start to the 2015 season the San Diego Padres now find themselves at 11-11 after dropping six of their last seven games.
The culprit? No, not our lack of offense like seasons past, but our pitching staff. Particularly, the bullpen, which has been awful recently
In our last three loses, the Padres have allowed opposing teams to score 11, 9, and 14 runs on us. How is that possible? What happened to our solid bullpen? Used to be if the Padres had a one run lead going into the seventh inning, everyone would pretty much go ahead and chalk that up as a win. Not any more, I have lost a lot of confidence in our pitching.
So what has changed? Have teams just figured out how to hit against the Padres? Are the scouting reports on us just that good?
Is Derrik Norris not doing a good enough job calling or framing pitches?
Are teams just taking advantage of mental pitching errors?
Are the pitchers just not performing as well because the pressure has been alleviated by the new Padres offense?
Is the new scoreboard blocking wind that would usually knock down fly balls?
I know I should be more rational about this, but I can’t help it. I’ve gotten a taste of Padres success at the beginning of this month and I like and I want more of it.
What do you guys think? Are the recent bullpen woes worrying you too? Join me in the comments below and lets figure this out.
