"‘Cause Upton funk gon’ give it to you‘Cause Upton funk gon’ give it to you‘Cause Upton funk gon’ give it to youWednesday night and he in the fourth spotDon’t believe me just watch (come on)"
You can now not un-hear that now when listening to that song, enjoy.
Justin Upton hit another monster late inning home run tonight, giving the San Diego Padres the lead over the Arizona Diamonbacks and securing their second series win of the 2015 season.
Upton had a monster game today, going 3-4 and raising his batting stats to .351/.405/.703 for the season. We gotta resign this guy NOW.

Pitcher Brandon Morrow gave another strong performance for the Padres today. Morrow got roughed up in the first inning, giving up two runs, but was able to collect himself and finished the day with seven innings pitched and seven hits; and no more runs earned.
Joaquin Benoit shut down the D-Backs in the eighth and Craig Kimbrel got his third save of the season to close out the victory, 3-2…just like A.J. Preller planned.
Making his first start in three games, Jedd Gyorko returned at second base. I don’t know what Gyorko worked on during his time off, but so far, it’s not working. Going 0-3 again tonight, Gyorko’s batting average has dropped to .125. Besides the pitchers and Gyorko, no one else in the starting line up is hitting under .243. Right now, Yangervis Solarte is the best option for the Padres at second base moving forward. I know it’s very early in the season, but Gyorko just does not look like he can hack it anymore and might benefit from a change of scenery.
The Padres have the day off tomorrow as they travel to Chicago for a weekend series with the Chicago Cubs.
Friars On Base will be back on Friday with all the highlights.
What are your thoughts on tonight’s game? What should the Padres do about Gyorko?
