The Pads have optioned outfielder Rymer Liriano and utility player Alex Dickerson to the El Paso Chihuahuas.
Neither player was having particularly good Springs. Liriano playing in 12 games and going 4 for 17 with one double and one home run. Dickerson played in eight games, going 3 for 14 with one double and one triple.
I expect that if the Padres have any roster spots open up during the regular season due to injury, either player could be called up like last season. For now, the outfield and infields are just to crowded and there’s not enough room for these prospects.
The Padres have also reassigned center fielder Rico Noel to the minor league camp.
