The San Diego Padres took on the Colorado Rockies today from Salt River Fields in Talking Stick, Arizona.
Tyson Ross got the start for the Friars today, but it was Padres offense that was the big story, putting up 10 runs on 14 hits, to defeat the Rockies 10-3.
Will Middlebrooks (1-3) and Yangervis Solarte (1-4) are not making Bud Black‘s job any easier. Both infielders had at least one RBI. Middlebrooks is hitting .357 so far this Spring and Solarte is at .344. We’re at the half way point in Spring Training now and still no clear winner for third base.
The highlight of today’s match up was Cody Decker, who only got one at bat today but made it count with an eighth inning Grand Slam.
The Padres get a day off tomorrow before taking on the Royals Friday night in Peoria.
