Here are the starting lineups for both games:
In the Oakland game today Odrisamer Despaigne, competing for the fifth spot in the Padres’ starting rotation, allowed two runs on six hits in four innings.
Pitching prospect, Matt Wisler, did not fair too well against the A’s either. Wisler gave up six hits and eight runs.
In the Milwaukee game, James Shields made his third Spring Training start for the Pads. Shields had not allowed any runs so far, but gave up four runs on three hits today.
Neither pitching was outstanding today, but that’s what Spring Training is for. They’d been having a pretty dominating performance so far, so I guess it was just a matter of time before they got roughed up a little.
Cameron Maybin, Jedd Gyorko, and Tommy Medica all hit home runs today but it was not enough to pull out wins for the Padres, losing to both the Athletics (2-13) & Brewers (4-6).
The Padres will look to rebound tomorrow against the Colorado Rockies.
