Friars On Base Winter Meetings Mid-day Recap Day #2

We are halfway through Day #2 of the Winter Meetings in our beautiful city of San Diego, and our hometown team has had a lot of rumors circulating, but no actual deals. Let’s recap the rumors that the Padres have been involved with. The Padres and Dodgers are reportedly as of today really close to a deal for the Padres to get Matt Kemp for Yasmani Grandal and A top prospect. Will the Padres be able to get the outfielder in a deal? Reports are that the two teams are really close and it’s possibly a deal could go down before the afternoon is over. As for another rumor the Padres are involved in, The team is in talks for Yoenis Cespedes, now those talks are not as far along as the Matt Kemp trade talks are, and as of right now I believe the Padres are more likely to get Kemp then Cespedes.
