Friars On Base: Petco Park Scoreboard Construction Update

The Padres announced a week ago that Petco Park would undergo new changes for the future, as the new anticipated scoreboard project will start this off-season. So far, the Padres and team President Mike Dee‘s Twitter accounts have already posted some photos of the process.

The outfield grass in left field has some parts covered with wooden boards for construction workers and looks like they already started from the top at the “Petco Park” sign to the giant inning tracking scoreboard, piece-by-piece. It’s too bad our Bolt friends at Qualcomm can’t borrow some of these parts to improve the 1997 standard definition dead-pixel boards currently in use. But hopefully there will be a new Chargers stadium someday.
