Where They Stand

This series win should give the Padres great momentum heading into the weekend and into the final month of the season. Finishing strong and building momentum into 2015 should be the montra of the Padres for the remainder of the season. They have to feel good about coming out with a win against a tough team that most think can go far in October. The Brewers have been in first place most of this season and possess one of the most feared lineups in the National League. The Padres kept their mighty bats quiet in the last two games of the series.

More from Padres News

The Padres sit alone at third in the division, 7 games separate them from the teams above and below them. They are now 18-14 against the National League Central and will finish that way as they will not play another team from that division this year. The Padres now face a challenge in the Dodgers this weekend at Petco Park. They can be a pest in the NL West division race as they face the first-place Dodgers and the second-place Giants 13 times combined in the next month.
