Class-A: Eugene Emeralds (24-31)
Last night the Eugene Emeralds were completely blown out last night against the Boise Hawks. The Emeralds lost 17-3. Emerald CF lead the way with 2 hits; he had 2 doubles, but was throw out on the base paths twice. He was thrown out trying to steal third base and was also picked off of second base.
Emerald 2B joined in on the fun going 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the first inning.
The Emerald pitching staff did not have a good night led by Cory Bostjancic. He pitched only 1/3 of an innings, but allow 8 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks. His ERA ballooned to 14.32 on the season. Bostjancic has had a rough season; he started out at Fort Wayne but was demoted after allowing 6 runs in 7.2 innings while walking 5. He has struggled with his command this season and will need some majoring tinkering with his delivery and a short-term memory if he looks to turn it around before season end.
