Padres News: Padres vs. Dodgers – Game 2 Recap

facebooktwitterreddit

Geez, stop pitching to Adrian Gonzalez guys. Two games in a row he has crushed it for a homer, punishing our San Diego Padres pitchers.

The San Diego Padres played their first evening game of the 2015 season in Los Angeles today, against the Dodgers.

After a minor rain delay Tyson Ross got the start on the mound for Padres. Ross went six innings, giving up six hits and two runs.

The Padres and Dodgers kept the score close tonight. Padres took the lead in the first inning and again later in the eighth, until pulling away in the top of the ninth; adding four runs to give the Padres a 7-3 lead and win.

I don’t know about you guys, but I am loving Matt Kemp. The former Dodger has looked great so far.

Another thing you gotta love, Derek Norris hustles his butt off, huh? For a catcher, and fairly stout one too, it sure is fun to see him turning doubles and sliding all over the place.

Newly acquired closer Craig Kimbrel made his Padres debut tonight as well, although it was not in a save situation like the ones we expect to see him in a lot this year. Kimbrel struck out all three batters faced, averaging a 97 mph fastball…so awesome.

What are the highlights tonight for you guys? Thoughts on the Padres after their first two games?

Check in with us tomorrow as the Padres finish up their first series in Los Angeles. Andrew Cashner is scheduled to start for the Friars.
