Padres Morning Dump

BOSTON — The challenge of building the San Diego Padres, suffice to say, has significant differences from the challenges of building the Boston Red Sox.

JOSH Spence failed to make his Major League Baseball debut yesterday morning Melbourne time but the pitcher has been earmarked for great things after being promoted to the San Diego Padres’ 25-man roster.

BOSTON — Of all the storylines surrounding the Padres’ series this week against the Red Sox — and there certainly have been a bunch of them — the best one might relate to San Diego third-base coach Glenn Hoffman.

Several San Diego Padres trades could be coming soon. Heath Bell and Ryan Ludwick are amongst the Padres available through a trade, and it seems like only a matter of time before the deals start getting announced.
