Padres Morning Dump

Tuesday was one of those nights for the red-hot Boston Red Sox, who lost 5-4 to the lowly San Diego Padres before 38,422 fans, the largest crowd at Fenway Park since World War II, in a game that had a little of everything — and not much of it good from the home team’s standpoint.

Sources close to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports say that the Philadelphia Phillies, Seattle Mariners and Cincinnati Reds that have inquired about outfielder Ryan Ludwick’s availability from the San Diego Padres.

BOSTON — Carl Crawford was receiving treatment on his left hamstring for the time being, so another Red Sox outfielder, Mike Cameron, sidled over, leaning against the roof of the Red Sox dugout at Fenway Park from the top step.

The 23-year-old from Geelong, near Melbourne, was called up by the Padres from their Arizona minor league club on Tuesday and flew from Texas to Boston only to sit out San Diego’s 5-4 win over the Red Sox.
