Morning Dump – 5/9/11

Anthony Rizzo admits he is “anxious” to reach the major leagues.

Missions officials have learned that catcher Kyle Phillips is starting at catcher tonight for the parent-club San Diego Padres.

SAN DIEGO — Evan Scribner really had things working for him on the mound in Saturday’s 6-0 loss to the D-backs.

TACOMA — Since being drafted by the Chicago White Sox in June of 2005, Aaron Cunningham has been traded three times, lived in 10 different minor league cities, spent a month playing in baseball-crazy Venezuela, and has been up-and-down with the Oakland Athletics and San Diego Padres over the last three seasons more times than even he can remember.

While winning 90 games last season, the San Diego Padres remained remarkably healthy. No such luck this year.
