The Diamondbacks will counter with Merrill Kelly. The right-hander has gotten off to a great start this season, posting a 2.53 ERA in his first four starts. He's always had San Diego's number, going 8-2 with a 2.61 ERA in 13 starts against the Padres.

Which San Diego Padres player needs to bounce back in today's game vs. the Diamondbacks?

After getting shut out on just two hits without a walk last night, virtually the entire lineup has to bounce back. One player the Padres really need to get going is Juan Soto. The star outfielder went hitless in three at-bats last night with two strikeouts. He's gone hitless in seven at-bats this series, has three hits in his last 28 at-bats and is hitting just .176 this season.
