They're coming for you, Dodgers! The San Diego Padres made quick work of the Atlanta Braves in the NL Wild Card Series. The Friars put five runs on the board during the second inning of Game 2 on Wednesday night, and that was enough to outlast a late Braves' comeback attempt. San Diego walked off the field with the 5-4 win and series sweep of Atlanta.

Next up for the Padres is their hated NL West rival, the Los Angeles Dodgers. All that stands between the Friars and a trip to the National League Championship Series for the second time in three years is LA.

Padres fans chanting 'Beat LA' after sweep of Braves

The Friar faithful were very aware of the stakes following San Diego's victory over Atlanta. As the Padres players were on the field donning their 'October Ready' t-shirts, the capacity crowd at Petco Park broke out in unison with a chant of 'Beat LA'.

While Dodgers fans will surely rest on their laurels, the truth is that they're scared. And why shouldn't they be. This year's San Diego team has already proven over and over again that they're not afraid of the big bad wolf. San Diego took 8-of-13 from Los Angeles this season and has the type of roster that can match the Dodgers step for step.

Yes, LA has Shohei Ohtani. But the Dodgers starting rotation is very suspect. Tyler Glasnow is out for the rest of the postseason, and after Jack Flaherty and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, this Dodgers' rotation doesn't scare anybody. Least of the all, the Padres.

Jackson Merrill's postgame comments should scare Dodgers fans

Padres' rookie phenom Jackson Merrill had a big part to play in San Diego's win over Atlanta during the NL Wild Card Series. During a postgame interview with 93.7 The Fan, Merrill talked about his mindset when it comes to the game of baseball.

Merrill said, "Once that at-bat is over or once that play is over, you don’t get it back. You gotta give 100% on every single play, every single pitch you see." That's the type of attitude it's going to take to beat LA during the NLDS. The Friar faithful can't wait until Game 1 which begins Saturday night in Los Angeles.
