With the time in San Diego likely over for Blake Snell and Josh Hader, where could the duo be pitching in 2024 and how could those landing spots impact the San Diego Padres in their quest to get back into the National League postseason?

MLB rumors: Blake Snell heading to National League East?

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today in his weekly column, it seems that Snell would love to return to his native Seattle to pitch for the Mariners. However, with Seattle's rotation in good shape, the Mariners will likely focus resources elsewhere. That could send Snell back to the East Coast.

"The Philadelphia Phillies are the favorite to sign him while letting Aaron Nola walk away," Nightengale writes of Snell, meaning there could be a huge shift in pitching power in the National League for 2024.

Snell to the Phillies matches up with one of the predictions put out by MLBTradeRumors, with the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers being the other two predictions. According to MLBTR, Snell could land a seven-year, $200 million deal after likely winning the NL Cy Young Award.

MLB rumors: Josh Hader landing with the Texas Rangers?

While the Texas Rangers stormed their way to the World Series title, the bullpen was not always the strength of the team. That's one of the reasons why Nightengale linked Hader to the Lone Star State in his weekly column. Texas has already shown it doesn't mind spending money on pitching, and adding Hader would certainly boost the back end of the bullpen.

All three of MLBTR's writers agree with Nightengale, selecting Texas as the likely landing spot for Hader. And what will it take for the Rangers to sign him? MLBTR is predicting a six-year, $110 million contract coming Hader's way this winter.
