It's no secret that the San Diego Padres have had issues all season when it comes to runners in scoring position (RISP). But how do they compare against the rest of Major League Baseball? If MLB power rankings were based just on batting average with runners in scoring position, this is how the teams would rank.
MLB Power Rankings: Ranking all 30 teams by RISP production
Leading the top of the chart in this category heading into June 13's games is the Texas Rangers, batting .329 with runners in scoring position. Texas is the only team batting over .300 in this category, one of the reasons why the Rangers currently lead all MLB teams with a plus-146 scoring differential.
At the opposite end of the spectrum is San Diego, with the Padres batting .201 with runners in scoring position. Ranking 30 out of all 30 teams despite having a star-studded lineup, this is one area where the Padres will have to turn things around if they're going to not only contend for the National League West title, but also cement their place as a postseason contender as well.
