Seiya Suzuki is... inevitable? The Chicago Cubs' slugger terrorized the San Diego Padres in the 2025 NL Wild Card round to help the club advance to the NLDS. He boasted a home run and two doubles in three games against the Friars, and now, the 30-year-old has moved on to give the Milwaukee Brewers headaches.
In the first inning of Game 2 of the NLDS, Suzuki muscled a three-run home run to give the Cubs an early 3-0 lead against their NL Central rivals. Is this guy the most dangerous hitter in the MLB playoffs right now? Padres fans may agree to that.
Cubs' Seiya Suzuki uses successful playoffs series vs. Padres as momentum into NLDS
Mind you, this is Suzuki's first-ever postseason appearance, and he is surely acting like he has been here before. He did post an 0-for-4 effort in Game 1 against the Brewers, but he wasted no time on Monday night to show that his postseason prowess is here to stay.

Suzuki ended the regular season riding a seven-game hitting, backed by five home runs and 12 RBIs. An interesting note is that he struggled against both the Brewers and the Padres in the regular season, but he's used his recent tirade as fuel to redeem himself in October.
He posted an .077 batting average (1-for-13) against San Diego in the regular season, and a .120 average against the Brewers (6-for-50, 22 strikeouts). Suzuki is doing more than just making up for lost time, all while delivering gut punches to both National League organizations.
The only difference between the Padres and the Brewers? Milwaukee was able to respond, while San Diego fell flat at the plate. After Suzuki's three-run jack, the Brew Crew answered with a three-run home run in the bottom-half of the first inning off the bat of first baseman Andrew Vaughn.
