Entering Monday, the Padres have the third-best collective ERA in all of baseball (2.82), and the lowest among relievers (1.63). It's been no secret that the Friars' pitching staff has been dominant, and it isn't just one guy.

One month into the regular season, we are approaching All-Star Game candidacies, and objectively, several arms deserve recognition. Jason Adam, Michael King, Nick Pivetta, and Robert Suarez are each legitimate All-Star contenders for the 2025 campaign, and they each present a convincing case.

These 4 San Diego Padres pitchers deserve All-Star Game consideration

Jason Adam

Adam has been as dominant as possible. Following a remarkable half-season with San Diego in 2024, Adam is right back on the horse this year, headlined by one earned run in 15 innings. His metrics speak for themselves, making him one of the most unhittable relievers in Major League Baseball. His 14 appearances are among the most in the bigs, proving that the Padres rely on him to get the job done on any given day.

At 33 years old, Adam has never been named to the All-Star Game. If he continues to pitch at this rate, his name should be called this summer.

Michael King

Already with a complete-game shutout this season, King has amassed 40 strikeouts in six starts, donning a 2.18 ERA. King had a marvelous 2024 season with the Padres, which was his first as a full-time starter. He placed seventh in the Cy Young vote, and since then, he's seemingly getting better.

Nick Pivetta

Through one month, Pivetta has proven himself to be the biggest steal of the offseason. Allowing just four earned runs through 30 innings, Pivetta's 0.767 WHIP is among the Top 3 in all of baseball. San Diego needed Pivetta to step up with Yu Darvish riding the injured list to begin the season, and he has far exceeded what the front office staff thought he would do.

Robert Suarez

Suarez was a first-time All-Star in 2024. He posted 36 saves and nine wins, and he has built off of that tremendous campaign. This year, he leads the league with 10 saves, and in 12 innings, has only put seven guys on base. He's been a hero in 2025, and if he was an All-Star last season, there's little doubt he'd be left off the roster this summer.
