Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles are another team looking to stockpile prospects as they go through a long rebuild playing in the AL East.

Wil Myers may very well bat third for the Baltimore Orioles if he were traded over there as they don’t have much firepower in the lineup.

And that’s especially true if the Padres can get Trey Mancini back in a trade for Myers.

Mancini is basically Wil Myers except better as he can play outfield and first base. He will play next season at 28 and was a 3.3 WAR player in 2019 when he hit .291 with 35 home runs.

He’ll be arbitration-eligible for the first time this offseason so he’s due a big raise, but he’s under team control for three more years at what should be a good price.

Baltimore would want some good prospects in return as they look to build up their farm system.

I think Luis Urias could be a good fit for them as well, but then the Padres would have to find a second baseman this offseason (and they might be doing that anyway).

And then you throw in a pitcher outside of MacKenzie Gore and Luis Patino along with a 20-30th ranked prospect and we got a deal.
