The San Diego Padres begin their fifth series against the San Francisco Giants on July 26. Here’s how to watch the Padres vs. Giants live, on TV and online.

The San Diego Padres start another three-game series against the San Francisco Giants on Friday, so find out how to watch the Padres vs. Giants online or live tonight, with the latest MLB live stream.

The Giants have had the Padres number as of late. San Diego is 5-7 against San Francisco this season, the last two series being sweeps at the hands of the divisional rival. At the time, the Giants were living in the basement of the National League West while the Padres were vying for a wild card spot; now, the roles are reversed, as the Friars are the new NL West cellar-dwellers.

San Francisco appears to have found new life, going 8-2 in their last 10 games. In what was supposed to be a rebuild year, the Giants now face a tough dilemma; fight for the playoffs, or stay the course and sell while they can.

Meanwhile, the Padres are coming off a rough start to the second half. The team is yet to win a series since the All-Star break and looks like the ghost of the first half’s past. Any talks of the team making moves for 2019 seem to have been quelled for now, and the Friars very well may stick to their original plan — 2020 will be the first year of true contention.

San Diego will rely on Joey Lucchesi to handle the series opener. The second-year starter had a rough game against the Chicago Cubs, allowing six runs and three walks through only 4.1 innings. His second-half ERA has spiked since the first, sitting at 7.71 through two games. Will he be able to bounce back and return to his early season self?

In the other dugout, the Giants will send out Jeff Samardzija, who is 7-8 with a 4.08 ERA and 1.178 WHIP. He’s played well against the Friars with his last start being one of his best this season — he allowed only two runs off five hits through eight innings, striking out six batters and walking two. Samardzija owns a 1.38 ERA and 1.077 WHIP through four games against the Padres this year.

This series might be the last chance the Padres have to play catch-up in an extremely crowded playoff race. So be sure to watch Padres vs. Giants online, or catch the game on TV, tonight.
