San Diego Padres are doing something right

That’s a very solid combination of talent right there. And we acquired them all via different ways too. You see draft picks, international signings, and savvy trades. The San Diego Padres front office should be lauded for their drafting and development departments.

A.J. Preller and company have put together arguably baseball’s best and deepest farm system, but are developing it correctly, as well. That is a far cry from the ghosts of past front office and ownership groups.

Back then it would always seem like one or the other. We would draft well, and not develop prospects, or have bad draft picks at a time when our player development was good.

Not now, and not with this front office and ownership group. Not with the leadership, and stability here. And due to that stability, we are starting to see the fruit-bearing from the “Hot Talent Lava Tree”.

Beginning with this edition, the second of our look at the San Diego Padres organizational roster projections, will we really start to see how much talent this organization possesses.
