Game 1 Monday, 5:10pm

Tyson Ross (7-8, 3.38 ERA) vs. Wily Peralta (2-5, 3.90 ERA)

Ross went 2-1 with a 2.81 ERA in the month of July. Walks have still been a concern. In his last start he issued four free passes. He has allowed only one home run in his last 17 starts. He is 2-1 with a 3.44 ERA in three career starts against the Brewers. Two of them came at Miller Park where his ERA goes up to 4.50.

Peralta recently returned from an extended term on the DL. Last week he made his first start since May 22nd. He allowed two runs in six innings in his return. He is pitching in his fourth season for Milwaukee. He has only pitched one game against the Padres. He went 6 1/3 innings and allowed three runs but only two were earned. He got the win.

Offensive Player to Watch: Derek Norris

Norris struggled mightily for most of July but in the past week he is hitting .450 with a grand slam and six RBI total. He has never faced Peralta nor the Brewers. Norris is on a hot streak and he can be a very streaky hitter.
