The Padres announced early Thursday morning that they will reinstate OF/1B Wil Myers to the active roster. To make room for Myers, RHP Kevin Quackenbush was sent down to Triple-A El Paso.
The Padres have missed Myers’ presence since he went to the DL with a pesky wrist injury. Since then, the Padres have gone 13-15, with most of their wins coming in the latter half of his absence.
Myers will look to re-energize a Padres club that is trying to rise above the .500 mark. His presence in the lineup will give Bud Black more options in the outfield and first base; but also perhaps, more questions. What will this mean for Melvin Upton Jr. and the hot swinging Will Venable? Give your opinion in the comments below.
