Padres Want Power Hitting Outfielder, Possibly Favorites For Kemp

The Padres number one priority this offseason appears to be acquiring a power hitting outfielder. They’ve reportedly discussed options such as Jay Bruce, Justin Upton, and Yoenis Cespedes.

However, their main focus seems to be Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp and Bob Nightengale of USA Today tweeted that the Padres are the favorites to land him and that their offer includes catcher Yasmani Grandal and another player.

Kemp hit .287/.346/.506 with 25 home runs and 89 RBIs for the Dodgers in 2014.
