Last night the El Paso Chihuahuas’ game was postponed due to their luggage, equipment, and uniforms not arriving on time. It is not often you hear of a game being postponed for this reason. This game has been rescheduled for a doubleheader on Saturday. Let’s take a look at a look at the rest of the farm.

Triple-A

The Chihuahuas play the Tacoma Rainiers tonight. The Chihuahuas will send Donn Roach (0-1, 3.57) to the mound as he continues to make his way back to the majors. The Rainiers will counter with Matt Palmer (1-4, 4.76 ERA). First pitch is at 9:05 pm ET.

Double-A

Box Score

The San Antonio Missions defeated the Tulsa Drillers 8-4.

The Missions’ Josh Geer won his 4th game on the season. Geer pitched 6 innings, allowing 1 run, on 6 hits, and 1 walk while striking out 4. Geer’s ERA now sits at 3.63 on the season. With all of the minor league call-ups of starting pitchers to this point of the season, it seems that Geer will be facing an uphill battle to make it back to the majors. Geer pitched for the Padres during the 2008-2009 seasons.

Tonight the Missions send Leonel Campos (0-2, 2.77 ERA) to the mound to face Tulsa’s Carlos Hernandez (1-4, 2.72 ERA). First pitch is at 8:05 pm ET.

Storm SS Diego Goris, who was a California League All-Star this season, went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI. Goris owns a slash line of .321/.343/.526 on the season. If he continues on this trajectory, he should be the best offensive shortstop for the Padres since Khalil Greene.

Tonight, the Storm send Coby Cowgill (1-0, 1.80 ERA) to the mound to face Mark Appel (0-3, 10.48). Appel was the first pick of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft. He has struggled since joining the professional ranks. First pitch is at 6:30 pm PDT.
