The San Diego Padres number four prospect Casey Kelly continues to work his way back to top form from Tommy Surgery. In Monday’s victory for Double-A San Antonio, Kelly was impressive throwing six innings of shutout ball on only 71 pitches for his first win with the Missions.

San Diego Union Tribune’s Jeff Sanders first reported Kelly’s line via Twitter.

Kelly has already made four rehab starts and is putting up a solid strikeout-to-walk ratio. In 20 innings, Kelly has struck out 17 hitters while walking only 1 while posting a 0.75 ERA in Double-A

It’s uncertain when Kelly will make the Padres’ squad in 2014, but with the rotation beginning to show signs of injuries,  fans might see Kelly in the next couple of months.
