Padres Deal OF/1B Blanks To Oakland

The San Diego Padres have parted ways with outfielder/first baseman Kyle Blanks. According to Dennis Lin of the UT-San Diego, the team has sent Blanks, who was optioned recently back to Triple-A El Paso to the Oakland Athletics for outfielder Jake Goebbert and a player to be named later.

In 132 plate appearances for Triple-A Sacramento, Goebbert is hitting .257 with 6 home runs and 25 driven in. Blanks, who split time between El Paso and San Diego, hit .265 with 9 home runs and 20 runs batted in 99 plate appearances at El Paso.
