Another day and another roster move for the San Diego Padres. This time it’s in the bullpen. Hector Ambriz was designated for assignment and Kevin Quackenbush was recalled from Triple-A El Paso.

Amrbiz was just recalled yesterday when Jace Peterson was optioned back down to Triple-A. He pitched in yesterday’s game, going two innings, giving up two hits and two runs while striking out one. He was 1-0 with a 1.62 ERA in 14 games at Triple-A before his recall yesterday.

Quackenbush made his Major League debut back on April 25th in the Padres 11-1 loss to the Nationals. He gave up two hits and two runs in 1.2 innings of work. In 13 games in Triple-A, he has a 1.26 ERA and six saves with 12 strikeouts in 14.1 innings.
