Earlier today, the San Diego Padres announced a couple of roster moves. Hector Ambriz has been brought up to the big club from El Paso, while infielder Jace Peterson has been sent down. Peterson had been manning third base for the Friars while Chase Headley was on the disabled list.

Ambriz is a journeyman pitcher, who has a 1-0 record so far at Triple-A this season. He has spent parts of the past couple of seasons with both Cleveland and Houston. Ambriz will be with the team later today as the Padres close out their 3-game series with the Kansas City Royals at Petco Park.
