Mark Prior could be heading to the Padres. No, not to pitch. He could be heading to the front office. He has given up on come back attempts. He seems to be a very intelligent guy. He would definitely be a nice asset to have in the front office.

Our writer Noah Eli checked in to report that the Padres are talking to Scott Downs, according to Jon Morosi. Downs has a 2.49 ERA and 1.477 WHIP last year with the Angels and Braves. He is pretty dominant against lefties, which is what you would expect from a lefty. Hopefully Byrnes and Co. wine and dine him just right tonight. Two words: order pizza. Another two words: and beer.

Bruce Levine tweets that the Dodgers and Rays may be getting close on a deal for David Price. Whatever.

The Winter Meetings have started with a bang with the announcement of Joe Torre, Tony Larussa and Bobby Cox as Hall of Fame – Class of 2014 inductees.

This post is for the continuous updates that should be pouring out of the GM Meetings all week. But, like someone else said, perhaps last week was as crazy as it was because all of the GM’s plan to just take their families to Disney. It remains to be seen what kind of moves Josh Byrnes and company have left to make. Keep it locked in here for all of your updates.
