Here is the “Daily Roundup,” Friars fans:
- Aaron Steen of MLB Trade Rumors reported that the Friars designated utility infielder Pedro Ciriaco for assignment. The move itself makes sense as the Friars have now have three of their starting infielders back from the disabled list.
- Gaslamp Ball’s “jbox” highlighted how terrible the Padres have played over their then-3-17 stretch heading into yesterday. Unfortunately for “jbox,” the rest of the Padres’ fanbase, and I, things hit rock-bottom last night when it came to Tim Lincecum’s no-hitter.
- Jamal Collier of MLB.com shared his thoughts on San Diego’s most recent loss and Lincecum’s no-no from Saturday evening.
- Collier also reported on the rehab of Cameron Maybin and the status of the center fielder’s knee. After he missed 45 games earlier in the year due to a wrist injury, Maybin damaged the PCL in his left knee in early June.
