Morosi Reports The Padres Still Have Shopping To Do

When I saw Fox Sports writer Jon Paul Morosi suggested that the Padres needed to shop more, I chuckled a little bit. Of course, they need to acquire more talent, Captain Obvious. However, Morosi had a few interesting notes on the Padres pursuit(or lack thereof) of talent.

Morosi confirmed that the Padres have had dialogue with the Tigers about pitcher Rick Porcello. It does not appear that the talks are very advanced, or if any names have been exchanged. Porcello would be an intriguing name to add to the rotation. I feel like I have speculated about him ad naseum this offseason.

Morosi also highlighted bounce-back candiates Jair Jurrjens and Jeff Karstens. I have heard little to no buzz on either player. Personally, I feel that the Padres need to acquire a more established player, but both pitchers could be useful.
