Josh Geer Named Texas League Pitcher Of The Week
Josh Geer is a name that Padres’ fans haven’t heard about in years. In fact, many fans probably didn’t even know that he is still part of the Padres’ organization, but Josh Geer is finally making a name for himself – again.
Geer, a starting pitcher with Double-A San Antonio was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Week for the Week of June 25-July 1.
In two starts during the week, Geer went 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA, walked just one and struck out eight while limiting opposing batters to a .163 average.
The Texas native earns honor for third time in career.
In eight starts this year for the Missions, Geer is 3-2 with a 4.47 ERA in 48 1/3 innings pitched.
Geer last pitched with the Padres in2009. In29 career games Major League games, Geer owns a 3-8 record with a 5.28 ERA in 129 2/3 innings pitched.
