Two of San Diego’s high profiled prospects are making their way to the 2012 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on July 8.
Yasmani Grandal, a switch-hitting catcher for Triple- A Tucson and Single-A right fielder Rymer Liriano have been named to play for the World team.
Grandal is hitting .308 with six homers and 30 RBI in 50 games forTucson.
The Cuban native was acquired by the Padre this off-season in a five-player deal that included the Padres netting Edinson Volquez, Yonder Alonso and Brad Boxberger in exchange for right-hander Mat Latos.
Liriano is hitting .302, with five homers, 40 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 68 games forLakeElsinore.
The promising outfielder just represented the California League in the High Single-A California-Carolina Leagues All-Star Game.
Liriano was signed by the Padres on July 3, 2007as a non-drafted free agent from theDominican Republic
