Orlando Hudson Released by Padres
The San Diego Padres released Orlando Hudson today. The beleaguered second baseman was the
source of a great deal of ire for many Padres fans. He rubbed many in San Diego the wrong way. It was his on-field performance though that ultimately did him in.
During tonight’s broadcast, Josh Byrnes talked about releasing Hudson.
He handled it like a professional. He knows how I feel about him.
The move made room for the Padres to bring up Alexi Amarista. Amarista came to San Diego in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels that sent Ernesto Frieri north.
In a little over a year with San Diego, Hudson hit .238/.313/.344.
