Padres vs Dodgers Game Recap 4/7/12

In their third game of the series, the Padres finally provided the fans some excitement. Unfortunately, the outcome was the same as the first two game; a loss. The Padres fell to the Dodgers 6-5 in 11 innings.

Dustin Moseley simply didn’t have it last night, Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier continued their hot streak, and Dee Gordon showed why he’s on the path to becoming a star. Moseley went five innings, gave up five hits and two walks, and allowed five runs. He got the no decision as the Padres scored five in the fifth inning courtesy of some Dodger pitching wildness. Matt Kemp went 2 for 4 and picked up two more RBI. Andre Ethier went 1 for 4 and collected two RBI of his own. But it was Dee Gordon that put on a show.

Gordon was on base five times with three hits and two walks. He stole three bases, scored two runs, and drive in another. He was a major distraction on the base paths to Padres pitchers, drawing countless throw-overs. Gordon singled in the winning run in the 11th.

While the Padres were able to score five runs, they did so with patience as the Dodgers walked 10 batters. San Diego still only collected four hits.

In the final game of the series, Clayton Richard will take on former-Padre Aaron Harrang at 1:05 PT.
