Western Wire: Christmas Eve Edition

T’was the day before Christmas and all through the West, not a GM was slacking, not even the best (Josh Byrnes).  The hot stove is burning as hot as a flare, in hopes that the big trade would soon be there.  The prospects are nestled all snug on the farm, while visions of the Show can’t do any harm.  I could go on, but I’ll spare you all.  Instead, let’s take a look at what’s been going on around the NL West.

Around the Foghorn mourned the loss of Carlos Beltran to the Cardinals.  His injury-plagued ways, inconsistent hitting, and heft contract is sure to be missed in the City by the Bay.

Rox Pile wrote a letter to Santa.  With promises of cookies, they asked Santa for 11 things to help improve the Rockies now and for the future.

Lasorda’s Lair talked about the sale of the Dodgers’ TV rights with Fox and the emergency stay imposed by the courts.  The Frank McCourt saga is never-ending.

Venom Strikes took a look at the Diamondbacks’ outfield and the log jam the team seems to be creating.  Jason Kubel‘s signing gives the Diamondbacks one more outfielder than they have starting positions.
