We wasted opportunities in the first couple of games, but we cam back strong in the last 2 to take a series split. This game was won by our pitching instead of the offensive assault that we have been putting in the last few games.
Cory Luebke was only able to last for 5 innings after getting up there in the pitch count, but the bullpen secured the game by shutting down the Mets. The bullpen put together 4 innings of no hit baseball. Chad Qualls bounced back from a poor performance and picked up the W. Heath Bell picked up his 32nd save of the season.
The offense was jump started by Cameron Maybin in the 6th inning with a solo homer and then we put runs up in the next couple of innings. Our lineup has a bunch of Triple-A guys out there, but we seem to be putting up runs and wins. Let’s just keep on rolling and get some momentum for next year.
