Series Preview: Padres vs Phillies

Use the FORCE!!! With Princess Leia hats in the bullpen and the Padres on the road, I think we found a winning combination. Don’t tell anyone this, but we escaped the cellar if the NL West. The Duds are sitting at the bottom and we have the force on our side!

We are coming off a 3-game sweep of the Fish and head over to Philly to get some Pat’s cheesesteaks. We will stop by and play a few baseball games while we are there also. The pitching matchups in this 4-game series will be awesome! We have STUD pitchers that only San Diego fans know about and the Phillies have the best pitching staff on the planet.

Check out these matchups:
Game 1: Cory Luebke vs Cole Hamels
Some lefty action to start out the series. Lueb has been pitching well since being put in the rotation and Cole Hamels is one of the best in the league. I have both on my fantasy team and I am starting both.

Game 2: Mat Latos vs Kyle Kendrick
Mat can’t seem to get on track this season. At least he catches a break and has the easiest pitching matchup. Hopefully the offense can get him a little run support to help his confidence out.

Game 3: Timmy Stauffer vs Roy Halladay
Will Halladay throw a complete game? Stauff is the best in our rotation and gets the tough task of Doc Halladay. This could be a 0-0 tie heading into the 14th inning.

Game 4: Aaron Harang vs Cliff Lee
The Harangutan has been great since coming off the disabled list. He could be showcasing his skills for another team.

Predictions:
One of these players, Heath Bell, Mike Adams, and Luddy, will not be in a Padres uniform by the end of the series.

We are playing the best team in the league and it would be stupid to expect a wining series. Just call me stupid! We are scoring runs and we have the pitching to get this done. We pull 3 games out of this thing!
