Giants Squeeze Out a Win Against Our Padres

Padres 3 – Gigantes 4

Who was calling for Buddy to put Rob Johnson on the bench to get more playing time for Kyle Phillips and Luis Martinez? OK, me neither. Maybe that is why I am not the manager.

Kyle Phillips took the start today and had a ROUGH day. He went 0-for-5 at the dish with a pair of strikeouts and was 0-for-6 in trying to cut down base runners. He even allowed the first stolen base to C Eli Whiteside. In the final inning, he was asked to lay down a bunt to move runners (tying and winning run) over from first and second but he bunted into a double play.

In the top half of the inning, he allowed Emmanuel Burris to steal second and sailed the ball into center field to allow the runner over to third. Burris was brought in with a suicide squeeze to take a 4-3 lead.

Giants take 3-out-of-4 in the series. This stuff is just getting old!
